An Iranian by birth, Nazanin is a member of AFHR and is spearheading the AFHR fight for human rights education in the Middle East. Her popularity as an Iranian Actress gives her the opportunity to reach out to a population notoriously victimized by human rights abuses.

Nazanin has been heavily involved in safeguarding human rights in her native Iran by holding rallies to prevent the unjust conviction and treatment of Iranian youth and by endorsing human rights petitions to the United Nations. She has also raises public awareness on the subject through the media
